چکیده

septoria tritici blotch is an important wheat disease in many areas of the world including iran's warm, humidregions. in this study, crosses were made between resistant breeding line bobwhite#1/fengkang andcommercial cultivars moghan3, koohdasht, tajan and morvarid, and derived f1, f2, bc1 and bc2 generations were used to determine the genetic control of necrosis, pycnidia traits and the area under disease progress curve (audpc) in seedlings under greenhouse conditions using generation mean analysis. the cultivars and derived populations were evaluated using a randomized complete block design with three replications. significant differences among generations were found for all traits, and genetic analyses of those traits were performed. results showed that additive, non-additive and epistatic effects played roles in controlling all traits. the role of dominance effects and dominance × dominance interaction was much greater in controlling the studied traits. therefore, hybridization methods and selection in the final generation are recommended for improving resistance to septoria tritici blotch.

Identification and Molecular Mapping of a Gene in Wheat Conferring Resistance to Mycosphaerella graminicola.

ABSTRACT Septoria tritici leaf blotch (STB), caused by the ascomycete Mycosphaerella graminicola (anamorph Septoria tritici), is an economically important disease of wheat. Breeding for resistance to STB is the most effective means to control this disease and can be facilitated through the use of molecular markers. However, molecular markers linked to most genes for resistance to STB are not ye...

Partial Resistance to Septoria Tritici Blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola) in Wheat Cultivars Arina and Riband.

ABSTRACT Partial resistance to Septoria tritici blotch (STB) and its inheritance were investigated in a doubled-haploid population of a cross between cvs. Arina and Riband. The former has good partial resistance whereas the latter is susceptible. In adult plant trials in polytunnels, STB disease scores were negatively correlated with heading date. Resistance was not specific to any of the three...

Wheat Domestication Accelerated Evolution and Triggered Positive Selection in the β-Xylosidase Enzyme of Mycosphaerella graminicola

Plant cell wall degrading enzymes (PCWDEs) of plant pathogens are receiving increasing interest for their potential to trigger plant defense reactions. In an antagonistic co-evolutionary arms race between host and pathogen, PCWDEs could be under strong selection. Here, we tested the hypothesis that PCWDEs in the fungal wheat pathogen Mycosphaerella graminicola have been positively selected by a...

ABC transporters and azole susceptibility in laboratory strains of the wheat pathogen Mycosphaerella graminicola.

Laboratory strains of Mycosphaerella graminicola with decreased susceptibilities to the azole antifungal agent cyproconazole showed a multidrug resistance phenotype by exhibiting cross-resistance to an unrelated chemical, cycloheximide or rhodamine 6G, or both. Decreased azole susceptibility was found to be associated with either decreased or increased levels of accumulation of cyproconazole. N...

Detection of Mycosphaerella graminicola in Wheat Leaves by a Microsatellite Dinucleotide Specific-Primer

Early detection of infection is very important for efficient management of Mycosphaerella graminicola leaf blotch. To monitor and quantify the occurrence of this fungus during the growing season, a diagnostic method based on real-time PCR was developed. Standard and real-time PCR assays were developed using SYBR Green chemistry to quantify M. graminicola in vitro or in wheat samples. Microsatel...
